Blog Post 9: Video Storytelling

  1. Chose a story a telling approach because I wanted to show a quiet day on the ranch, and what an “easy” day looks like. I used this tactic because it’s easier to showcase my day in a way that viewers can connect with and that isn’t super formal.
  2. I enjoyed being able to highlight some of our horses, and be able to open up to the outside a little bit about what we’d do on a daily basis. I will jump on every opportunity I can to help educate the public on the Ag industry.
  3. Obviously his way not my first choice for story ideas, but with the unfortunate times we all live in at the moment, it was the next best thing I could come up with. I wish I could have had more opportunities to cover different topics.
  4. I was suprised at how easy it was to edit raw video futage, I didn’t think it would go as quick as it did. I wish I could have gotten a few shots of getting horses excercised, but it’s kind of hard to do that when you are the person exercising them!
  5. Using video to help my future Livestock Judging team is what first comes to mind, being able to video classes and then uploading them for them to watch is an easy way to help kiddos stay sharp when they can’t get in front of live classes.
